FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much will the design cost?

We provide our clients with scaffolding design quotations where required and are prepared to work on a fixed price basis where we are provided with full and fixed information. Any modifications and changes by your client are discussed with you before proceeding further.

How long will the design process take?

Lead times are dependant upon our current workload however we will always endeavour to meet any reasonable timescale.

What is included in your design package?

All designs are issued as a complete set of working drawings accompanied by a full set of design calculations and design risk assessment. Any certificates that are required will also be provided in the package eg. Form C certificates for Network Rail work. All designs are in accordance with the latest British and European Codes of Practice.

We are happy to provide inspection services to check the scaffold is in compliance with the design and issue certificates to validate your scaffold - this is often used by our clients to provide peace of mind! - see our inspection and checking service

Materials schedules can be provided if required but we request that you make this clear before the start of the design process so that we can take it into account as we proceed.

How will we receive the design and what form will it take?

Designs are supplied by two means:

  1. Hard copies of all drawings are printed in full colour (A1) and posted to your office or site. These are accompanied by a copy of the design calculations and the design risk assessment, along with original certificates as necessary. We also provide weather-proof construction aids as required that show detailed sections for use during erection.
  2. Design drawings, design calculations, design risk assessments and any certificates are emailed direct to your inbox in .pdf format (requires Abobe Acrobat Reader - 'get here') for immediate use. We can also send these direct to your client if necessary.

Do you provide support for client liaison?

We are happy to provide a point of contact and support for all technical enquires made by your client whether this is via email, over the phone or in person at site/office.

I'm bridging over (something) - Can it be done? How many beams do I need? What beam centres do I need?

We provide a technical service to existing clients over the phone to answer initial queries. We provide information to assist our clients during the tender stage of a contract which is then used as the basis of design where necessary.

"I'm quoting a job, I don't need a full drawing yet, but can you give me a scheme to show the client what I intend to provide?"

Yes! - We are happy to provide schematic drawings to assist you in the presentation of your tender document. Such schemes are only provisional and should not be treated as working drawings - all designs require calculations to prove their purpose.

"I've built a scaffold already, my client says they now need a design, can you help?"

Yes! - We will come to site to measure up your scaffold and then produce a full design based upon it. Any necessary modifications will be advised to you immediately and clearly highlighted.
